The first thing that you notice when you get to Jaf Jaf is the superb décor. The building is new and has a very modern feel, in fact the architect is up for an award and it is not hard to see why! This could put some people off but let us assure you that the restaurant is a very relaxed place to be. The staff are friendly and families are welcome.
The menu is mouth watering and has an excellent selection of starters and mains as well as some excellent wines to compliment your meal. The prices are what you would normally expect from a good Italian restaurant. The menu caters for all budgets with a great selection of meals and prices. Starters are priced from £4.25 - £7.75 and mains start at £6.75 and go up to £17.25.
Likewise with drinks, bottles of wine start at £12, but if you are feeling a bit extravagant they go up to £160. They even have a bottle of Cristal 2000 “Louis Roederer” which is £280.00 for those who are celebrating in style! We decided as it was a Monday and we had work in the morning we would leave the Cristal for another time and opt for wine!
For starters Gez had the Trio Misto (a combination of scallops, prawns and calamari), a recommendation from Gary who looked after us, and Laura had Calamari in Umido (Calamari in fresh tomato and garlic sauce). They were both excellent and very generous portions. For mains we chose Pollo All Arancia Amore which was a chicken breast, flamed in Grand Marnier and covered in orange and crème de cassis sauce which was absolutely superb and Agnolotta alla Aragosta which was pasta filled with lobster meat with lobster sauce which was also fantastic – another of Gary’s recommendations. The great thing about both these meals was their value for money at just over £10 per dish, and they were, again, very generous portions.
There is also a selection of puddings on offer priced at £4.95 – all of them sounded delicious but unfortunately we were too full to try them!
All in all this is an excellent restaurant. Don’t be put off by the fact that it is at a golf club because everyone is welcome and you will not be disappointed! Gary the Operations Manager for Jaf Jaf clearly has a passion for dining and has a history of running successful restaurants and it is not hard to see why.
Jaf Jaf also has a fantastic function room on the 3rd floor – ideal for parties, conferencing and weddings. And if you’re not too full why not go downstairs and have a go on their state-of-the-art two tiered driving range.
Jaf Jaf have grand plans and are expanding with a further restaurant opening on the high street in Cleakheaton and if its as good as the Tingley one it will do very well. We both agreed that this is one of the best restaurants we have eaten at within the Morley area and as such we strongly recommend Jaf Jaf.
Thank you
